| Faro, named after a card game, is a former mining town. The Anvil lead-silver and zinc mine, one of the largest open-pit mines in the world, operated off and on from 1969 until 1998. Visitor services include lodging at local bed and breakfasts and dining at the town restaurant. Other services include a grocery/hardware store, liquor store, churches, post office and recreation centre. Camping at John Connelly municipal campground and RV park. |
