| An important transportation centre on the Peace River, the town of Peace River was incorporated in 1919. Today, Peace River is a centre for goverment services in the region. Area industry includes a pulp mill, gas and oil and farming. Visitor services include dining and lodging at local restaurants and 5 hotels/motels. Camping at Lions Club Campground and at Pine Ridge Campground. |
Attractions:
- The Centennial Museum houses archives and exhibits on Sir Alexander Mackenzie, the fur trade and local history. Historical re-enactments in summer.
- Take a historic walking tour to various points of interest around town.
- Visit the statue of Twelve-Foot Davis, a gold miner who struck it rich on a 12-foot strip of land between 2 larger claims in the Cariboo gold fields.
