| The name Glennallen is derived from the combined last names of Capt. Edwin F. Glenn and Lt. Henry T. Allen, both leaders in the early exploration of the Copper River region. Glennallen stretches along several miles of the Glenn Highway west from its junction with the Richardson Highway. The Bureau of Land Management, Alaska State Troopers and Dept. of Fish and Game have offices here. Glennallen is also home to the state’s only accredited resident 4-year Bible college. Native-owned Ahtna Corp. has its headquarters in Glennallen. Also headquartered here is KCAM radio, which broadcasts the popular “Caribou Clatters.” Accommodations and dining at the New Caribou Hotel and Family Restaurant.
